Hi, I’m Mike Stelling.

Like so many others before me, I moved to Colorado to ski in 1973, and as the saying goes, never left. After several years as a construction superintendent and carpentry subcontractor, I started Sunburst in 1982. I have built over 50 homes in Summit, Jefferson and Park County, not to mention the additions, remodels, renovations, and even a sled dog motel. From a solar cabin in Lost Park, to an estate home complete with indoor pool, swim-up bar, and wine cellar, to a Victorian home perched on the side of a mountain, Colorado home building is an extraordinary experience I truly treasure each and every day. If it sounds like I love what I do, that is correct.

For many, building a home is their biggest investment. I take the trust put in me to do that job very seriously. I am a hands-on, licensed, and insured General Contractor. I pride myself with building quickly and economically, discussing budgets openly and honestly at the onset of a project. I also have a reputation for sensitive site planning. That is, respect for the land, disturbing as little as possible and doing my best to make it appear that your home just grew there.
